Circular box in composite material (pillaged fish scales, binder and pigments) and gold mounts.The removable lid is decorated with an oval medallion, a miniature on wax, depicting a couple in a landscape.The wax medallion is set in a gold frame with an interlacing frieze. A second frame of gold interlacing surrounds this charming composition. The inside of the box is fully lined with tortoiseshell. Some wear on the base. 

Composite material: as the name suggests, this is made up of crushed fish scales to which we add a binder and a pigment of our choice, forming a composite material.
