Chatelaine with belt hook composed of three colors (green, pink, yellow) of intricately sculpted, matte gold. The piece is topped with a crown embellished with pearls and set with small stones. Two lions flank two coats of arms in multicolored enamel set on gold. Delicately sculpted rinceaux and fleur-de-lis motifs decorate the hook that once held a watch. This type of chatelaine was often a wedding gift, and the style began to develop during the Restoration period where the return of the monarchy saw the development of a decorative repertoire that reflected the times.
