Baluster-shaped flask decorated with Rocaille motifs. The body of the flask is embellished with shells, scrollwork, and flowers in relief. Four asymmetrical panels framed in rinceaux highlight translucent enamel that imitates grasses preserved in agate. A diamond button serves to open the hinged lid. It is highlighted with two imitation-agate panels and is topped with a pink cabochon framed with rose-cut diamonds. This flask is inspired by 18th century nécessaires made in England, which were small ornamental cases that carried practical items. During the 19th century, it was fashionable to revive historical styles.
