Rectangular, red enamel keepsake box with a gilt bronze frame that is very elaborately sculpted with leafy scrollwork. The body of the box is decorated with medallions featuring multicolored bouquets of flowers on a white background. The medallions are framed in ormolu that is sculpted with roses, rinceau, and latticework. On the lid, four circular medallions with floral decorations surround a wide, central medallion representing the story of "The Rape of Europa."The scene is richly framed by small beads, crossed ribbons, scrolling foliage, roses, and garlands.
