Small dance card in bronze and plates of mother-of-pearl. Mother-of-pearl plates finely engraved with foliage. The main face is decorated with a medallion representing enameled pansy adorns , a typical motif of Palais-Royal objects which is surmounted by a inscription "souvenir". The other side has an engraved decoration. The gilded bronze frame is worked with the wheel. It is decorated with stylized laurel leaves and binders on the hinge. In the corners, on the mother-of-pearl plates are represented bouquets of thoughts emphasizing the sentimental value of this object. A pen with a pencil of lead allows to close this notebook. The mother-of-pearl notebooks are characteristic objects of the early 19th-century. It allowed the dancer to remember the order of the dances on the program of the evening and the names of their partners. L: 2.36 in (6cm) / l: 1.77 in (4,5 cm). H: 0.39 in (1 cm). Charles X period.
