Circular silver vegetable dish with removable lid. The dish is embellished with a frieze of intertwining oak leaves on the rim and two handles sculpted to look like twisting branches. The body and lid are marked with coats of arms topped with crowns. A large rose with its foliage sits atop the lid to serve as a handle. Diameter: 9.4 (24 cm) / Length: 11.4 (29 cm) Weight: 4.1 lbs (1845 g) Silver marks. Master silversmith: Marc-Auguste Le brun, Paris. (A student of Jean-Baptiste Claude Odiot, he was active during the first half of the 19th century. Several of his silver pieces are conserved in the Louvre Museum in Paris.) REF: 7555. Price: 4000€
