Nightlight composed of a gilded bronze base, a finely worked patinated bronze ending with a gilt bronze swan motif. On the top of the stem a swan is spreading its wings and a small, white, opaline bowl is suspended from its beak. Three delicate chains descend from the beak and join a ring that is intricately engraved with zigzag patterns. The swan motif appears under the Empire and develops under Charles X. It represents this graceful and feminine art that develops in the first half of the 19th century. The emblematic animal swan represent Apollo in love.
