Additional information

The bouquet is framed by a Gothic arcade frieze dotted with star. The box is set with gilt bronze mounts and decorated with stylized flowers. The opening is decorated with two ornate cornices flower. The box rests on four feet decorated with foliage. This decoration was done by the Jean-Baptiste Desvignes (1786-1826) studio, famous for its techniques in painting opaline crystal and glass with gold and silver leaf. They used colors from vegetable origins, which were limited to dark blue and red. Pieces from his studio are characterized by shades of dark blue and red matte, with a penchant for golden surfaces dominated with motifs of palmettes, flowers, and garlands. Circa 1820.
