Oval box in gold and translucent pink enamel on a fine guilloche pattern with parallel streaks. the border of the box are embellished with white enamel half-pearls and a frieze that his accented with green and orange translucent enamel, which imitates gemstones. The hinged lid is decorated with a medallion, miniature on ivory, representing a young woman of quality in costume of the 18th century The body of the box also features panels of translucent pink enamel, which are interspaced with floral garlands in green enameled. The bottom of the box is decorated with the same translucent pink enamel framed by a frieze of half-pearls of white enamel.
The miniature shows a woman in a bust in a blue dress. His hair pulled up in a bun is held by a blue ribbon.
Hanau was an important center of production as was Berlin and Dresden.
