Philippe-Joseph BROCARD (1831-1896)
"Restorer and collector of works of art, Philippe-Joseph Brocard studies the enamelled decoration of glass in order to repair and copy Islamic models present in the great collections of the time and visible during the Universal Exhibitions. He is considered as the renovator of the technique of 14th century Arab enamels. From 1867, he sometimes signed and dated blown glass objects which he decorated with painted and fired polychrome enamels. "
