A Louis XVI allegorical mantel clock, gilt bronze and white marble with a bacchanal figure. Erigone, lying on the movement, drinks wine. The set rests on a stretcher, decorated with a garland of grapes and a drape decorated with a caduceus. It is supported by two putti, riding seated goats and holding between their teeth a bunch of grapes, each on a white marble plinth with guilloche frieze. The set is on a white marble base, decorated with guilloche friezes and a bas relief in the center decorated with Bacchus, putti and fauns playing with a lion. The clock rests on six turned feet. The clock has a sun motif pendulum, the white enameled dial has Arabic numerals. This mantel clock is framed by a pair of three-light candelabra in finely chased and gilded bronze and white Carrara marble; the bouquets made up of three sinuous leafy arms centered on a rod framed by foliage ending in a beaded ring retaining foliage and a seed. They are held by putti riding seated the same goats as the mantel clock. The base is decorated with pearls and small feet in flattened balls.
