A circular silver-gilt box in Louis XVI style engine-turned. The lid centred with a medallion representing a dove on a quiver surrounded by flowers and branches symbols of Love and Hymen. The box has its original leather case lined with dark red velvet and marked 'Boin-Taburet silversmiths 3, rue Pasquier Paris' in ormolu letters.
Silversmith mark on the edge of the box along with the inscription 'BO A PARIS' (B0 in Paris).The jeweler Emile Taburet exposed his work at the 1880 exhibition of the Union Centrale des Arts Decoratifs. He established his official silversmith mark a year later. He created the Boin-Taburet firm around 1880 with the antique dealer Georges Boin.
