Rectangular box in wood veener and tortoishell marquetry. The hinged lid is decorated with an ivory miniature depicting a young man in black suit and white tie. The young man is wearing favorite and a tie pin on his collar. This portrait is surrounded by a frame of gold and black enamel. The signature of the miniature is illegible. Inside, the bottom of the snuffbox is lined with brown tortoishell.
Dim: L : 3.54in. (9 cm)/ l :1.96in. (5 cm) / h :0.78in. (2 cm).
Restauration period. Circa 1820-1830.
