An rectangular with canted corners case in mother-of-pearl and gold.
The sliding cover is finely engraved with floral motifs and two medallions of doves, symbols of Love. In the center of the lid, a pearl is set on a gold base. The sides are decorated with geometric patterns. This box, judging by its format, was most likely used as a toiletry accessory. It may have contained some hygiene article in use during the late 18th and early 20th centuries.
