Rectangular, enameled gold vinaigrette. The hinged lid is decorated with enamel on gold and displays a view of an Alpine lake in front of a mountain range. The sides of the vinaigrette are embellished with finely etched waves and framed in a floral frieze. The cover opens to reveal an openwork grill that is intricately sculpted with rinceau and foliage around a central rose.

Illegible Master goldsmith marks. Craftsmanship is probably Swiss from the early 19th century.
