Additional information

Exceptional conical flask made of faceted crystal. The flask is set in an openwork mount made of gold and royal blue enamel and intricately sculpted with scrollwork motifs. A large monogram letter A is at the center of the mounting. The monogram is overlaid with translucent, royal blue enamel that leaves the fine parallel lines in the gold underneath visible. A crown rests above the monogram. The neck and the hinged lid are embellished with an interlacing motif, flowers, rinceau, and enamel overlay. A pearl tops the lid, which opens to reveal a small crystal stopper inserted in a grained-gold mounting. Work from the second half of the 19th century.
