Additional information

Small vinaigrette in gold and enamel. The miniature basin, which was used to hold fabric or cotton infused with fragrance, and its lid are decorated with multicolored bouquets of flowers framed in white and gold scrollwork and rinceau on a red background. A small chain in red enamel and gold connects the vinaigrette to a ring in the shape of a snake. The removable interior grill is richly decorated with rinceau and openwork foliage. Circa 1820-1830.
