Additional information

Rectangular tablet case with a lightly tapered base, a gold cage frame and pink enamel panels. The panels feature thin, parallel gold bands and gold stars on an opaque pink enamel background. A button serves to open the hinged lid. The body of the case is decorated with two monochrome, rectangular medallions with angled corners featuring lakeside fishing scenes. These medallions are framed with delicate gold bands that are highlighted with enamel. The gold case mounting is embellished with alternating translucent blue and opaque white enamel beads. The case contains writing supplies including ivory tablets with gold rivets and a pencil. Prestigious gold marks. Swiss craftsmanship from the second half of the 18th century.
