Additional information

Finely openworked gilt silver Chatelaine, set with fine pearls and enhanced with a key, a seal and a gusset watch set with rose-cut diamonds on both sides. The center is adorned with a delicate oval miniature painted on enamel, depicting two lovers embracing in a wooded landscape, one holding a small dog in his arms and a quiver at his feet. A chain extending to a fixing needle is attached to the rear hook of the chatelaine. The rocaille decoration with foliate scrolls, punctuated by pearled flowers, reflects a taste for the precious and sentimental ornamentation of the late 19th century. The mechanical watch is integrated into the chatelaine by a system of finely worked and pearled links. The watch does not work.
Owl hallmark for the 18-carat gold watch.
Boar hallmark, silver from 1838.
