Additional information

A round Louis XVI bonbonnière in tortoiseshell and gold, featuring on its lid an early 19th-century ivory miniature depicting a young child seated, holding in his hand a string attached to a toy horse on wheels placed on a round table. The child, with a pale face and soft features, has light brown, slightly curly hair and wears an elegant period-inspired outfit: an open red jacket, a light beige waistcoat and a loose-fitting white shirt with an open collar. The dark, neutral background highlights the luminous face and colourful clothing. The bottom of the box features a criss-cross pattern of braided hair. The gold mounts are decorated with twisted and chiselled friezes all around the edges.
