French Restoration cut crystal with ormolu mounts

A rectangular cut-crystal casket with alternating large point and bamboo cuts in the lower part and a bamboo cut in the upper part. The crystal is set in a gilt bronze frame decorated with finely chiseled flower bands and foliage. This box by the fineness of the size of the crystal and by the quality of bronze is representative of the decorative objects of the French Restoration and especially the production of Le Creusot. A few minor chips. Circa 1820-1830.
