Gold brooch set with a porcelain plaque representing a hen brooding her chicks and a rooster on a landscape background. This theme is inspired by Roman mosaics and taken up by artists of the early nineteenth century Roman. It is often treated by micro-mosaicists such Antonio Aguatti or Giacomo Raffaelli. The theme symbolizes Love. This subject is for once treated in polychrome porcelain. The gold setting crimping plate is finely worked with interlaced and chiseled. Work of the second part of the nineteenth century.
