A patinated bronze pirogue-shaped inkwell representing a dragon. The boat rests on four legs and is carved with scales and geometric motifs. Balls run around the edges of the inkwell; at the ends are two ink receptacles with hinged lids holding a flower. The dragon boat is a type of dugout canoe used for legendary races held every year in China.
