Alfred Brunel de Neuville: born in Passy on 8 December 18521 and died in Sèvres on 5 February 1942, was a French genre painter, author of still lifes and paintings of animals, particularly cats.
He was a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais. He has taken part in its exhibitions since 1879. Member since 1907. As in previous years, there was an abundance of works on offer, particularly those featuring cats, for this perfectionist of still life who renders the velvety colours of grapes and peaches to perfection.
